I think I’ve heard this question from almost every client I’ve ever had, and the best answer I can give is an analogy.
I want you to imagine you’re running to Target for some toothpaste, shampoo, and a new kitchen gadget you need. While moving through the aisles, you see stuff you weren’t expecting to purchase, but now you WANT them. A new hair product, some pretty kitchen towels, a set of dishes you’ve fallen in love with… then you decide to swing through the shoes because the sandals just came out and see two pairs that will match your summer outfits perfectly, so you drop them in the cart. Now that you’ve seen all the things, you HAVE TO HAVE THEM.
You get to the checkout, and your bill comes to $314.27. Dang, more than you expected, but you really love the stuff you got, so you’re willing to spend the extra 💵
Now imagine you get to Target, and before they’ll let you go pick out your stuff, you have to pay your bill up front. You go to the register, and they tell you “that’ll be $314.27.” And your response is “WHAT!!??!? I just came in for toothpaste, shampoo, and a new spatula. I’m not paying over $300 for THAT. No way. See ya.” And you leave.
It’s the same concept with your coaching prices.
When a potential client gets on the phone with you and goes through the consultation process, they fall in love with the things you help them discover. They didn’t realize before the call how badly they needed your help, but now that they do, they’re invested in making it work. They’re willing to spend their hard-earned 💵 to change their life.
But when they come to your website and see your prices before they’ve had a chance to experience what it would be like to work with you, they’re not invested. They can’t justify spending their 💵 on something that only MIGHT help them. So they see your prices and think “NO WAY! I’m not spending that much money on coaching.”
That’s why I recommend NOT putting your coaching prices on your website, but it’s actually up to you.
