What is a Therapeutic Art Coach?
Life coaches who use art as a therapeutic tool are called Therapeutic Art Coaches. Using ancient and modern techniques, they help clients unlock the power of their subconscious mind, allowing them to release emotions, find clarity, and process pain.
Their clients learn more about themselves and their feelings through affirmation art, mandalas, dream boards, visionary art, and more.
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to be good at art to become a Therapeutic Art Coach. The tools and techniques used are abstract, meditative, and great for beginners. There is no right or wrong way to express yourself through art.

What is the Best Therapeutic Art Coach Certification?
The best certification for art-focused life coaches is the Therapeutic Art Life Coach Certification from Transformation Academy. The main goal of this certification is to help life coaches, counselors, therapists, speakers, or teachers help their clients heal, find joy, increase their creativity, and build their confidence.
Not only will you learn more about the psychology behind therapeutic art, but you’ll also learn how to use art techniques in your coaching practice and how to develop your very own art-focused programs.
This certification is taught by three certified coaches and psychotherapists and is accredited by the Continuing Professional Development Standards Agency. When you complete the program, you will earn a certificate from Transformation Academy.
What’s included?
The Therapeutic Art Life Coach Certification includes 3 hours of video, articles, downloadable resources, certificate upon completion, multi-device viewing, and lifetime access.
You’ll also get VIP support where the instructors answer your questions within 24 hours as well as an active Facebook group with thousands of other life coaches just like you.
What Will I Learn?
Once inside, you’ll learn how to be a Therapeutic Art Coach and how to use art with your clients, helping them break through limiting beliefs.
The certification starts by teaching you the psychology behind therapeutic art so that you can access the subconscious mind of your clients and help them reprogram their minds.
Next, you’ll discover art tools that you can use to coach clients to move past their limiting beliefs and learn to confidently manage their emotions in an intelligent and fulfilling way. These same tools can also be used to reduce stress, increase self-awareness, heal emotional pain, fine-tune intuition, and of course, encourage self-expression.
You’ll learn how to do all of the above using mandalas, vision boards, meditation, and affirmations. The certification guides you step-by-step on how to master therapeutic art tools regardless of your artistic experience.
The Therapeutic Art Life Coach Certification includes 3 hours of video across 5 in-depth modules, including:
- Introduction to Using Therapeutic Art as a Life Coach: You’ll meet the instructor and learn how to use the course, understand the difference between art and therapy, and explore how to build a successful therapeutic art coaching business.
- Using MANDALAS for Therapeutic Art: You’ll learn how to facilitate Mandala Art with clients, create a mandala, use mandalas for transformation, use mandalas for meditation, and use mandalas as a 3rd eye.
- Therapeutic Art Processes and Activities: You’ll master all the therapeutic art tools and learn how to use them in your coaching practice including manifestation, visualization, guided meditation, journaling, affirmations, and more.
- Understand the Psychology of Therapeutic Art: You’ll learn to navigate the subconscious, conscious, superconscious, thoughts, and limiting beliefs using ancient and modern art.
- Wrap-Up and What’s Next: You’ll review everything you learned, practice more life coaching strategies, and receive your official certificate.
Certification Pros
If you are already a life coach or an art professional, you’ll love this certification! It’s an amazing introductory certification meant to add to your existing experience. It’s fun, quick, and powerful and the information inside will allow you to apply it to your practice immediately.
We love that it’s easy to consume and not one of those extensive courses that take a year to finish. However, even though they get to the point, you will walk away empowered to include art into your coaching practice.
Certification Cons
As with all our certification review posts, we want to be completely honest about the cons, so you can make an informed buying decision.
We didn’t love the fact that the terms and conditions say that you can’t use anything you learned outside of private 1-on-1 coaching, group coaching, or facilitating workshops. So much of the information is considered universal knowledge, meaning no one owns art. If you want to write a book or make videos as a coach, you can’t do that with what you’ve learned here.
Lastly, if you are not a life coach already, this course will not be enough for you. We really feel you need to get a full life coach certification and consider this an add-on specialty that you can offer. If you do not have a life coaching certification, or you’ve never life coached before, you might find this course lacking information.
Who created the Therapeutic Art Life Coach Certification?
This certification was created by Transformation Academy, an online coaching certification company with hundreds of thousands of students and multiple certification programs. We’ve taken most of their certification programs and trust them as an affordable option.
Transformation Academy is owned by Joeel and Natalie Rivera, who are both instructions in this course. Joeel, a former psychology professor, is currently working on his dissertation to receive a Ph.D. in Psychology. Joining them is Victoria Hawkins, a Holistic Wellness Practitioner, artist, author, psychotherapist, and yoga instructor.
Where to buy it?
You can buy Therapeutic Art Life Coach Certification for as low as $25.99 on Udemy as a new student. Yeap. You read that price right! If you already have a Udemy account, then the price is $159.99.
You can also buy directly from their website for $197 for each certification. Alternatively, you can enroll in the Master Coach certification course for $497 (at the time of this article). The company also offers a membership program where you can get certified in any of their life coaching niches and get access to their business-building resources for $94.95/month.
Sample Buyer Review: “I thoroughly enjoyed this course. It offers a great introduction to therapeutic art exercises and tools, while also touching on techniques to help clients overcome limiting beliefs. A worthwhile course for therapists, coaches, and educators who want to incorporate such techniques in their work.”
